Everyone kept saying, before you start your home search, you need to get pre-approved for a mortgage. But why. This seemed so daunting, and I just wanted to see what was out there. Don’t they expire? Don’t they collect all your information and then solicit? Don’t they try to trick you into a mortgage?
I was so naive to the process. Many of these things were not correct in the reality of things. You need to do your research and find a reliable, trustworthy broker but they are not trying to steal information. They are not trying to solicit. And they are not trying to trick you into a mortgage. If you find someone you trust, they will educate you on how to financially be able to afford a house.
This not only helps you understand how much you can afford but also makes you a more attractive buyer to sellers. It shows them that you’re serious and financially capable, which can give you an edge in a competitive market. Plus, being pre-approved helps streamline the buying process once you find your dream home, potentially saving you time and stress.
It’s very important to shop around but also find a Mortgage broker that really guides you through the financial part of purchasing a home. Now that I am living in the world of real estate and have several purchases under my belt, I have learned to do some research before I am quick to assume ‘That is not needed”.
